Taylor & Jenn's wedding was one for the books. We had never had the opportunity to shoot at the InterContinental Mark Hopkins Hotel but it's been on our dream list for sure. Goodness, that hotel is gorrrrrrgeous. When the Mark Hopkins Hotel opened on December 4, 1926, San Franciscans proclaimed it "architecturally perfect & flawless." It stands at the crest of Nob Hill, several hundred feet above San Francisco's downtown business and shopping district. The 19-story hotel's architecture is a combination of French chateau and Spanish Renaissance, embellished with elaborate terracotta ornament. Because the hotel consists of a tall central tower and two wings outstretched like arms, the rooms offer spectacular views of the San Francisco Bay, the city, the surrounding hills and the ocean. Proof:
That view was from Jenn's bridal suite & I had to catch my breath when I walked in & saw her elegantly sitting in the middle of this incredible room, getting her hair done. She was the vision of a perfect bride, sipping on champagne, calm & collected, offering us snacks & beverages from the moment we walked in. This girl, I tell you. The sweetest there is! We loved getting to know Jenn & Taylor at their engagement session earlier that year. We spent a day with them exploring San Francisco & walking down the memory lane of their dating history. They shared with us that Taylor had accepted a job in Brazil & they were moving right after their wedding. Selfishly, I was heartbroken. I suppose it's true though...distance makes the heart grow fonder. And as I look at these photos from their day I am reminded of Taylor & Jenn's genuine, caring attitudes towards their family & friends the day of their own wedding. I vividly remember their desire to celebrate their families coming together, especially as they approached this huge change in moving to Brazil. You could tell everyone around them was soaking up their presence & never wanting the night to end. It was so special to be a part of & we just felt incredibly honored to be the ones capturing the day. We love you, Taylor & Jenn!!! Can't wait to hang when you move back home!
