A Walnut Creek, Spring Wedding at Heather Farms // Brian & Emily

Our 2017 wedding season is now upon us & we couldn't be happier kicking it off with Brian & Emily's wedding blog post. For being a Walnut Creek native, I can't believe this was my first wedding at Heather Farms! It truly is such a beautiful venue if you love the outdoors, with gorgeous grounds to explore. We had perfect weather & it was a memorable day celebrating the union of Brian & Emily! They are a part of our church family & it's been a joy to get to know them during this season of their lives. Make sure to read through the blog post for some words from the bride, Emily. We loved hearing her thoughts behind the big day & to see who had a part in this wonderful celebration, scroll to the bottom. Cheers to the Dewey's! Xox- Jenny

How did you & Brian fall in love? "We didn't...it was an arranged marriage. Really fooled you guys in the pictures though am I right? Just kiddinggggg, we met at the NorthCreek college group called Impact. After a year of Brian being in the group (because he is TWO grades below me) we started dating. We really got to know each other and see the other's heart on the mission trip down to Watts, inner city LA."

Do you have any advice for a Bride & Groom regarding photography?  "Have fun! It is especially helpful when the photographers can make you laugh."

What was your favorite part about the wedding day? "The vows during the ceremony and finally getting to hear what Brian wrote. Also the way he teared up while reading the vows, showing his love and devotion."

"Chad & Jenny were very organized, on top of what needs to be done and their experience was helpful for planning out expected times and the full timeline of the day and when to take pictures. We loved meeting in person before the wedding over dessert to go through all the details. We loved the homemade pie ;) "  ///// That last bit made me laugh because when we had Brian & Emily over to go over their photography homework, I brought our a thawed, Trader Joe's pie & tried to pretend I made it, ha! I told them eventually ;)

St. Vincent School for Boys Wedding in San Rafael // James & Brynna

St. Vincent School for Boys is one of those venues where you walk up & it takes your breath away. It is placed on one of the most gorgeous, sprawling grounds, surrounded by eucalyptus groves & beautiful Italian-looking pathways & stonework. Chad & I had actually just returned from Italy before this wedding (a trip we took celebrating our 5 year anniversary!) It was wonderful to be reminded of the architecture & masonry that we fell in love with while we were abroad. St. Vincent's also has one of the most beautiful Catholic churches in the East Bay...high, beamed ceilings & incredible, stained glass windows surround you when you enter the church. It's impossible to not be affected by the immediate reverence that washes over you. It's a very special place & we get really excited whenever we get the chance to shoot there!

James & Brynna are such a sweet couple. We loved being a part of their day from beginning to end. They have a beautiful love story that's been built over many years & such a great community of friends & family that came together to witness them committing their lives together. We felt like part of the family by the end of the day & that's a huge compliment to the lovely couple & everyone involved! We worked with a great team of vendors:  Cinthy with A Touch of Grace / Coordinator  - Branching Out Cakes / Wedding Cake - Not Just Flowers / Florals. Thanks to everyone who made this day happen, but thanks most of all to James & Brynn! Thank you for allowing us to be a part of this amazing day - love you guys & cheers to the Daly's!
